Every
once in a while you come across a team that has exceptional talent -
so much so that they are already a jump ahead of many of their
opposition. This team was one of those however it was also one
of the hardest working as well.
They
didn't rely on their talent edge but trained exceptionally hard not
just for a week or two but all year for this moment. Often
when people see a winning team they think it is just a matter of
turning up and playing. What they don't see is the hours and
hours of sweat and training each week that went into their
preparation.
Nor
do they see the fun, the characters and the personalities behind the
team that goes beyond winning or losing.
This
is a special victory for this team not only because it is nationals
but because they have worked so hard to earn it and to do justice to
their already strong talent both individually and collectively.
Michael
Chi did a fantastic job in developing this team not just this year
but over a long period of time and Annie So has done a wonderful job
as manager. What makes a top team is not just one thing but it
is a combination of factors, this team got all of those things right
consistently for weeks on end and Auckland can be very very proud of
them.
Well
done guys and I hope you can take a few moments to sit back and
relish the victory and the great memories you've had together over
the past year.
