  MARATHON MANAGER - WOAH

One of the Managers of the Auckland teams used to be a really good runner. They used to run 20km every day and that was just the training.  For four years in a row they competed in a 100km race and completed that distance in around 24 hours.  Now that is tough!!!

VICTORIA'S MOON BOOT

Top Auckland Rep and ETP (NZ Elite Talent Project) member Victoria Cheng is slowly recovering from keyhole surgery to remove a bone spur on her ankle.  They took out two little bones and put them in a jar.  She had a general anaesthetic and woke up with a moon boot on.  She is on crutches now and can't put weight on it yet but can walk a little bit on one crutch.  All of us at Auckland reckon Vic is awesome so we wish her a healthy recovery.

                                                           THE NERVELESS BAG MAN

The Nerveless Man is also the Bag Man - he carries over 12 to 20 kg in

his bag every day.  Something heavy dropped onto his hand but he still

didn't feel it - luckily nothing  was broken.

Thought for the Month:

Getting Past Our Limitations

We all have limitations, everyone, absolutely everyone has experienced frustration, disappointment, heartache it is part of being human, being vulnerable.

Given that reality isn't it better to focus on what we CAN do instead of what we can't.  We can avoid wasting time on wondering "what if" and make the most of what we have, right here and right now.  This minute we can, instead, choose - to do what we can to make this world a slightly better place, even if just by 1 quarter of 1 hundredth of 1 percent, right now in some small way.  Perhaps insignificant to us perhaps not so insignificant to someone else.

New Rep Flags

Check out the new Auckland rep flags - thanks to Multicolour who sponsored the flag printing.

There was one for the 14s and 16s.  The Auckland 14s and 16s Teams - who qualified for Nats.

Auckland 14s (pictured) came 1st at the North Islands and 16s came second at North Islands.  They showed them off well at the event and hopefully had alot of fun with them.
