Vehicles overflowed the car park as the excited players were getting ready to embark on their journey ahead.   The fantastic five couldn't wait as the vans rolled into the drive way but underneath the excitement lay the thought of a more serious mission.   The FBI had told them to keep on their toes and watch for anything unusual.    This was a perfect time to sabotage one of Badminton New Zealand's biggest junior events and the alien division had been worried about an infiltration of some nasty alien types.    Soon all the teams were off leaving the worried parents to head home not knowing what they were sending their children into.     The sky was electric blanketed with grey clouds and a weird blue lightning.  The sky darkened further as the vans rolled into Taupo.    As Annika and Rowena filled their tummies with subway  Rowena spotted something bizarre.    There was something in the back of the 14s team one van and it was glowing red. It was small, and only the best eye sight could see it.

Was this the start of an alien invasion or just tired eyes?  We gathered up the troops to check out what it was.   We pulled our guns (the latest edition supernova 3000) and opened the door.   It was incredibly dark and now we couldn't see the glow anymore.   Thump!!! Bianca's phone fell on to the floor we all jumped then looked at each other.   Jenny picked it up.   "One message received" our bodies let out a sigh of relief.     While everyone was walking off Rowena went back inside to check one more time.   She just knew something was in there. Suddenly something was pulling at her ankle and she couldn't get free.   She looked behind but everyone had done it was too late to do anything - then there was nothing...   Slowly from out of the van came something that looked just like Rowena but wasn't her, it had no expression on it's face. Oblivious to Rowena's plight we all leaped into our vans on drove on.  Angela noticing she was missing quickly pulled out her phone and texted Jenny. "Where's Rowena is she with you ????????". Jenny replied "With Annika in team 2s van" .  That seemed plausible but Angela was puzzled why Rowena wasn't answering her phone maybe her battery was low. Soon we arrived down in Palmy around 8pm and got to bed early; well for everyone expect the fantastic five who decided to have a meeting. Rowena had been very quiet all trip since Taupo and left the meeting early - no one knew why or where she had now disappeared to. Abruptly their meeting finished as screams of terror filled the air.  Half of the Auckland teams had just...vanished. The fantastic five (well four without Rowena) leaped in action.  Jenny and Annika helped settle down the rest of the people while Jamie and Angela tried to find out what just happened. The red glow had returned and was now even brighter in the van which was driving off into the distance. Jamie and Angela followed in pursuit.

The van stopped so they went to investigate even though they didn't want to. Something hit Angela on the arm which made her close her eyes.  Then like Rowena there was nothing...The glow got even brighter. It was hard to hear over the crowd but Jenny's ears heard Jamie's scream. (Very high pitched and loud) Annika stayed with the group as Jenny followed her ears. It lead her to the van……   She tip toed inside were she found Angela's cell phone. She picked it up and saw something in the refection of the screen. She closed the phone and ran out to find everyone had disappeared all except for three people.  Jenny shocked with fear she looked behind and saw Rowena, Angela and Jamie.    They had a weird blank expression on their faces.  Then suddenly their skin dissolved and they turned into …..……. Their Green and Blue bodies with black eyes made them actually look kind of cute.  But their guns were far from cute. Luckily Jenny had heard of them before and quickly ran into her room and came back with hot chili sauce cause as you know Pluto is pretty cold so they hate hot things. She flicked it up in the air and karate kicked the top off  sending hot sauce all over the Pluto Plankton. But as she kicked they fired and hit her in the stomach.  She fell down exhausted and glowing purple. Annika knew what to do.  As the sauce was dissolving the Pluto Planktons she knew she had only seconds to act.  She pulled out the FBI med kit and selected the anti dissolution pack spraying it over Jenny to stop her from dissolving.    But as Jenny recovered what about the rest - where were the players and where were Angela, Rowena and Jamie - did they even still exist.

The Planktons were now dissolving into a blue and green goo.  Jenny pointed - weakly - and said "There in the middle of the goo..". Annika saw it, a small green box with blue button.  She pressed it. Suddenly the van started to glow red, then green, then blue.  It was an intergalactic containment energy field (ICE) for short.  She had read about it in alien class 101.  It sucked people in and made everything go black and shrunk them down to the size of a pinhead.  Now as it was discharging all the players, one by one, started popping back into existence looking really confused. Angela, Rowena and Jamie did a group hug with Annika and Jenny.  Almost everyone had a headache and went to bed straight away.  All was well. The fantastic five were back together again, the Auckland teams were shaken but ready to play and even the sky was clearing up. Soon everyone was asleep. The next day everyone was up and ready and was on the badminton courts. The teams did great coming back with outstanding results. The Fantastic five looked at each other and smiled...they had saved Auckland Badminton once again.  The End  Back to Kids Menu
